Ubuntu 17.10 started on Friday, but because there was no announcement in the mailing list as usual, only a handful of people knew.

According to today's disclosure of information, the current progress of the Artful development in the packaging tools are mainly two major adjustments. The first is to use the upstream debhelper code to generate ddebs, the second is the dpkg install package manager, for all uploaded content by default to generate .buildinfo file, including the source version.

It is also worth noting that Canonical engineers will try to evaluate PIE (Position Independent Executables) by default to support all architectures including i386 (32-bit), ARM64 (AArch64) and ARMhf, to be able to follow Debian and to Evaluation of FTBFS BUG between two systems.

Currently the daily version of Ubuntu 17.10 (Artful Aardvark) has been downloaded online, while supporting 32-bit and 64-bit hardware architecture. As previously reported, the version is based on Ubuntu 17.04 to adjust, still using Unity 7 desktop environment, but then will soon be adjusted to GNOME 3 desktop environment.
