IBM to open in Shanghai, "garage" dedicated to the development of iOS applications for enterprises

IBM announced today that it will accelerate this program after announcing cooperation with Apple for iOS applications in 2014. This will launch a new "Garages" action program, designed to help enterprises through the establishment of dedicated sites to build its "MobileFirst" iOS application. The first batch of new dedicated "garage" will be set up in Shanghai and Bucharest, and now IBM has set up a Bangalore in India.

In cooperation with Apple for the past three years, IBM has developed a number of applications for enterprise customers (more than 100 in the first year), covering retail, education, health care, banking, travel, communications, insurance and so on.

IBM also mentioned that billions of dollars have been generated from more than 3800 customer booking contracts, and future customers include Lufthansa Group, City Furniture, Singapore Airlines and JAL.
