The exposure of the HomePod firmware continues, and the developer continues to "dig deep" the code, and today the information about the "iPhone 8" is discovered by the developer.
Brazilian website iHelpBR also announced some new discoveries, these findings will allow us to further understand the upcoming Apple's flagship iPhone.
Inverted status bar
In the code associated with the camera's camera function, a line of code shows that the top bar of the device is "inverted" on the iPhone. Of course, the meaning of the word "inversion" is a bit fuzzy, so we can use different understandings to explain its meaning.
IHelpBR believes that the top bar may be inverted to its bottom. Basically, in applications such as cameras, it may appear at the bottom of the screen instead of the top. Of course, "inverted" can also refer to the status bar or its icon and the color of the text reversal.
It is worth mentioning that, in iOS 10 and the current iOS 11 Beta, the camera application is no status bar. In addition, the code line does not actually say that the top bar is the status bar, so it may be other parts.
Lock the key as a shutter
Another line of camera-related code seems to imply that the iPhone's "lock key" (power key) can be used as a shutter. On the current model iPhone, the volume can be added as a shutter button. But when we consider a few things, it might make more sense to use the lock key.
On the one hand, "iPhone 8" will have a vertically arranged camera module. When shooting with a vertically oriented camera, the lock key (usually on the right side of the phone) will be at the top and the volume button will be at the bottom. As with most cameras, the shutter at the top seems to be more natural in terms of operation. Also, locking the key as a camera shutter may be more suitable for the right hand holding the phone to shoot.
In addition, iHelpBR also found several more explicit references to inductive charging functions such as "_CanChargeInductive". The code also mentioned that Apple is likely to create a new battery icon for the new iPhone, because the code mentioned "batteryglyphs-D22", which D22 is considered "iPhone 8" internal code.
