Sir Alex's senior director Alex Acero and his team have been working on improving Siri's way of talking for many years. "It's like a race that has hindered the pace of our move," said Greg Joswiak, Apple's vice president of product marketing. "Apple has always had a lot of plans for Siri, you can talk to your phone, The simple way for you to do something, but the technology is not good enough.
Greg Joswiak said Apple's initial goal was to make Siri a "favorite machine". "We did not turn it into a quiz game," he said in an interview. "Apple wants Siri to be a friend who can help people do more.
Alex Acero and his team's goal is to make Siri sound more like a trustworthy person than a robot. Apple also wants to let people know what Siri can do and what can not be done, which is why iOS 11 contains Siri-centric features, such as cross-device synchronization and better understanding of user preferences and so on.
