The PS4 was first launched in North America in November 2013 and is currently available in three models including PS4 First, PS Slim and PS4 Pro. IDC forecast report released in December last year pointed out that by 2019, PS4 host sales will exceed 100 million units.

But Damien Thong, an analyst with Macquarie Capital, believes the PS5 will appear in Sony's 2018 fiscal year.
