The research report shows that the importance of 5G to all walks of life has been deeply rooted in the hearts of the people, and the operator's 5G revenue is also expected to increase. By 2026, operators will gain 47% of the total value of 5G. Through application evolution and scene research, operators have been able to grasp the 5G Internet of things and industry digital opportunities to the maximum extent, and fully tap their commercial potential.

The industry has spoken.

Ericsson CEO Bao Yikang said in an exclusive interview with Tencent,

On the first day of MWC, Bao Yikang officially announced at the global media and analyst conference that the 5G business was operating. Bao Yikang stressed that Ericsson will focus on 5G business use cases and wireless access, network slicing and machine intelligence and other key technology driving factors to help 5G achieve business success.

On the Ericsson platform, for example, Ericsson's 5G wireless point system is highly concerned. It is the result of the natural evolution of the previous generations of its wireless point system. The system supports the latest 3GPP 5G standards and the new 5G intermediate frequency band (3-5GHz), with a higher rate of 2Gbps. Operators will be able to use the same wiring infrastructure, the same network architecture, and deployment location to deploy the 5G wireless point system by the 4G solution.

This innovative small cellular solution provides a simple upgrade path for the existing wireless point system deployment, adding 5G technology function, which is very convenient for increasing the frequency, capacity and technology. For operators, the greatest benefit is to reduce construction costs and to achieve a smooth transition in the evolution of 4G to 5G.

At present, the wireless point system has been successfully deployed in many different indoor environments, such as office buildings, shopping malls, hospitals and airports. As time goes on, small cellular solutions will also support 5G industrial applications, from networked factories to networking mining. It is reported that the 5G wireless point system has been released in January 2018 and is expected to be commercially available at the end of 2018 and a large-scale commercial use in 2019.

There are many 5G maturing technologies and products like this in Ericsson platform. At present, Ericsson has completed the construction of the 5G platform, including core network, wireless network and transmission network products, as well as OSS, BSS, network services and security products.

Bao Yikang said,

Up to now, Ericsson has signed 38 cooperation memorandums for network testing with operators, and has signed several commercial contracts, which will deliver products to customers by the end of this year.

However, with the arrival of 5G, the industry will be more competitive. Ericsson, on the one hand, should improve its own business performance and face the pressure of the industry.

For the first time, Bao Yikang responded to the sluggish financial performance last year.

Ericsson has identified nine 5G applications, covering nearly 90% of the business opportunities. Among them, real-time automation is the largest market area. It is expected that the revenue in 2026 is expected to reach 101 billion dollars, followed by enhanced video services, and the revenue in 2026 is expected to reach US $96 billion.

From the global telecommunications equipment market, Ericsson is still the dominant European leader, followed by NOKIA, HUAWEI and ZTE.

Looking ahead to a year or two ago, Bao said, "We do have 5G business orders now, but the scale deployment will not happen until 2020. All over the world, operators are generally upgrading their networks." Get ready for 5G. In Europe, too much regulatory uncertainty makes it difficult for operators to determine their investment intentions. It is clear that 5G deployment is being led only in North-East Asia and North America.

Especially the Chinese market,
