On April 17th, the Huawei Analyst Conference was held in Shenzhen this morning. Huawei's rotating chairman, Chairman Xu Zhijun, delivered a keynote speech. He said that the application of artificial intelligence to enterprises is still in its infancy. Until now, companies that actually use artificial intelligence are less than 1%. It is expected that they will not be widely available until 2025.
In addition, Huawei predicts that by 2025, the global smartphone population will exceed 8 billion, there will be 6.5 billion mobile phone users, the number of personal intelligent terminals will reach 40 billion, and the penetration rate of personal assistants will reach 90%; at the same time, intelligent robots will also be rapidly popularized. In households, the share will increase from 1.5% today to 12%, and household broadband households will increase to 75%.
At the commercial and social levels, the global 100 billion connection in 2025 will be in the fields of public utilities, transportation, manufacturing, medical care, agriculture, and finance, and will promote digital transformation.
In his speech, Xu Zhijun first reviewed Huawei's 2017 results. In 2017, Huawei achieved global sales revenue of 603.6 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 15.7%, net profit of 47.5 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 28.1%, and cash flow from operating activities of up to 96.3 billion yuan.
In terms of operator business, Huawei achieved sales revenue of RMB 277.8 billion, an increase of 2.5% year-on-year; sales in corporate business achieved RMB 54.9 billion, an increase of 35.1% year-on-year; in the consumer business, Huawei (including Glory) smartphones The company shipped 153 million units a year and realized sales revenue of 237.2 billion yuan, an increase of 31.9% year-on-year.
According to Xu Zhijun, Huawei's research and development expenses reached RMB 89.7 billion in 2017, an increase of 17.4% year-on-year, and investment in R&D in the last ten years exceeded RMB 394 billion. In the next 10 years, the investment in technological innovation will continue to increase at a scale of more than US$10 billion a year.
