The first office building in the Facebook Western Park was MPK 20, which was opened in March 2015 and the cost of the building license is 177 million dollars (about 1 billion 100 million yuan). The building is only the first building in the Facebook Park project.
According to Buildzoom, Facebook's other two other building licenses are $300 million (about $1 billion 910 million), MPK 21 and $303 million (about 1 billion 930 million yuan) of MPK 22, each of which seems to be the highest record of Menlo Park municipal government officials.
MPK 21 is an extension of MPK 20, and MPK 22 is a four story office building, which is designed by the famous architect Frank Frank (Gehry).
Buildzoom reported: "MPK 20 plus the two new buildings, Facebook has applied for a building permit of a total price of more than $1 billion for its Western Park."
Facebook also pointed out that with the large-scale expansion of the office building, the social media giant has pushed ahead with plans including a range of facilities.
"Facebook will build a park that covers an area of 2 acres (8094 square meters), which includes public squares and active spaces between MPK 21 and MPK 22," the company said.
"It's building a pedestrian bridge to allow cyclists and pedestrians to safely cross the freeway and reconnect the community to the Gulf," the company said.
In July last year, Facebook also proposed building an office and residential mixed office building Willow Village in Menlo Park.
According to the proposal, Facebook plans to build 1 million 750 thousand square feet (160 thousand square meters) of offices, 1500 homes, and 125 thousand square feet (about 12 thousand square meters) of retail space, including a drugstore, and a cultural and tourist center.
Facebook is expanding through renting office space, which will expand the company's footprint in Sunny Valley, San Francisco, mountain view and Fremont.
To a large extent, the largest of the Facebook lease contracts is in the sun, which is considered the largest office building deal in the Gulf so far in 2018.
In mid March, Facebook hired 1 million square feet (93 thousand square meters) of office space in the Moffett Towers 2 complex.
In addition, Facebook has already rented or agreed to rent a large office in San Francisco, mountain view and Fremont.
