Softbank plans to sell 51% stake in ARM China for 775 million US dollars. The transaction is expected to be completed this month.

Arm China is a subsidiary of arm design company Arm Limited. Softbank acquired Arm in 2016. Arm was founded in Cambridge, England and sells chip design technology licenses. Microprocessors using ARM technology intellectual property, which we commonly call ARM microprocessors.

Softbank stated that Arm will continue to receive a large share of all licenses, patents, software and services generated from Arm China's authorized production of Arm semiconductor products.

Softbank expects to include the gains from the deal in the quarter ended June 30.
