During the test, the high speed EMUs realized automatic driving, such as automatic stop, start and operation at stations and lines. Unlike autopilot, the automatic driving test still requires the driver to be on duty.

Zhang Kai, driver of Shenyang locomotive depot of China Railway Shenyang Bureau Group Co., Ltd.: all need me to operate and confirm. But now, after using this ATO and autopilot system, I actually belong to a backup system, and I am a redundant relationship with it. It is working, I am supervising, and my hands have actually been liberated.

The head of China Railway Corporation will introduce the test to the end of September this year. The future test results will be used for intelligent high-speed rail construction between Beijing Zhangjiakou high-speed rail and Beijing to Xiong an new inter city railway. Previously, China has successfully realized 200 km / h automatic driving on the intercity line from Dongguan to Huizhou, Foshan to Zhaoqing in Guangdong, and it is running well at present.
