On July 10th, the international index preparation company FTSE index released a news on July 9th that it will officially introduce Xiaomi (01810.HK) into the FTSE China 50 Index after the market close on July 13, and officially officially on July 16. Earlier, it was reported that Xiaomi would be included in the Hong Kong Hang Seng Index.
The Hong Kong Hang Seng Index Company stated that since the Xiaomi Group meets the requirements of the Hang Seng Composite Index for rapid inclusion in the index rules, the constituents of the relevant index will take effect on July 23, 2018.
It is reported that Xiaomi will be included in the Hang Seng Composite Index, Hang Seng Global Composite Index and Hang Seng Internet Technology Industry Index. In addition, after becoming a constituent of the Hong Kong Hang Seng Index, Xiaomi Group will become the Shanghai-Hong Kong Stock Connect investment target, and A-share investors can purchase Xiaomi stock through Hong Kong stocks.
It is also known that when many indexes open their arms to Xiaomi, the American index preparation company MSCI closed the door to Xiaomi.
According to MSCI, Xiaomi is not eligible for inclusion in the MSCI Index. The reason for the non-conformity is the voting structure of Xiaomi's inequality.
