Global IT security technology company Quick Heal said in the second quarter of this year that it detected more than 180 million security attacks on Windows devices for both individual and business users.

According to the Quarterly Security Threat Report released by Quick Heal and its corporate security brand Seqrite, more than 2 million malicious viruses were detected on Windows devices, including 16,000 ransomware, 13,000 cryptocurrency mining malicious programs, and 141,000 Vulnerabilities and 4.0488 million potentially unwanted applications and adware.

“The current cybercrime activity is completely different from a few years ago. They use advanced technology to implement increasingly sophisticated attacks and target a broader user base. & rdquo; Sanjay Katkar, chief technology officer and joint managing director of Quick Heal Technologies, said in a statement.

“The latest security threat reports highlight the risks individuals and businesses face. & rdquo; Carter said.

According to statistics from the report, in the second quarter of 2018, the Trojan virus was still the most awkward malicious virus, and its number increased by 4%.

Security experts at Quick Heal Technologies also point out that the number of EternalBlue vulnerabilities has grown. Hackers will exploit this vulnerability to implement the world's largest cybersecurity attack —— WannaCry ransomware attack.

The report also mentions several other important trends, including a significant increase in the number of ransomware and cryptocurrency mining malicious program attacks.

The report also pointed out that the increase in Cryptojacking malware is one of the most worrying security trends. It also warned that it was considered “advanced security threat” because it could transfer funds directly to cybercriminals.

The attack on Cryptojacking malware has not been detected for a long time, and it is often used as a platform to launch other complex attacks.
