The iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max are the first iPhone models that don't have a 3.5mm audio adapter. The iPhone 7 and iPhone 8 that were released from the XS series are no longer available.
The reddit user aeppacher, who works at Verizon at the operator, noticed this change:
“There was a customer who bought an iPhone 8. I told them that I would get a converter and then I found myself wrong. I thought it was a packaging error because the new XS / XS Max is not included.”
"I only know after checking the packing list, it is no longer being assigned to the machine.AccessoriesAmong them, if you want to use it, you can only buy it separately.
Several other users who recently purchased the iPhone also confirmed that the iPhone 8/8 Plus no longer includes a headphone adapter, and it is now possible to get it only when you buy an inventory machine.
ApplewebsiteThe packing list is no longer listed about the existence of this adapter, suggesting that it needs to be purchased separately. The adapter is sold at the Apple Store for $9.99. Of course, new users don't have to worry too much. The new iPhone is still equipped with Lightning wired headsets.
