Microsoft is the only major company in the world that is willing to try to build topological qubits, with a focus on significantly reducing subatomic level interference that can affect machines. In this way, the computational qubit will be "corrected" by other qubits. One of the problems that new facilities need to address is to create sustainable quantum states that are easier to interpret. It is difficult to measure very small particles close to absolute zero, but any slight error in reading the quantum state can destroy the information contained in it without a second chance to try again. Krogstrup said, “This is one of the directions we can now study further in Denmark.”
