With the launch of the 2018 iPhone lineup, analysts have begun to turn their attention to the 2019 iPhone. In a new report Monday, Apple analyst Guo Mingli said the new device will have the same level of dust and water resistance as the iPhone XS, the iPhone XS Max and the iPhone XR.
Guo Mingli pointed out in his report that the dust-proof and water-resistant class of the 2019 iPhone series will continue to maintain the IP68 without additional protection, but will not decrease. The report was provided to Taiwan's Economic Daily, but did not provide any other information about the 2019 iPhone product line.
Compared with the 2017 iPhone X, Apple has made some performance upgrades on the iPhone XS series and the iPhone XR, including dust and water resistance upgrades, from last year's IP67 to this year's IP68, with a maximum stay of 30 minutes under the deepest 2 meters of water.
Prior to that, there were reports predicting next year's iPhone, including upgrades to Face ID and so on. In addition, last week Digitimes reported that TSMC will continue to supply the next generation of A13 processors exclusively for the iPhone next year. Apple has publicly praised TSMC for mass production of high quality products. At last month's Apple conference, Apple said it was the first cellphone company to use a 7-nm chip, largely thanks to TSMC's ability.
