According to foreign media 9to5Mac, Apple's smart speaker HomePod has been growing steadily since its release. Due to higher pricing, HomePod is not expected to have large-scale sales in the short term. Of course, there are also factors in the development of the smart speaker market.
A new report from CIRP further proves this. According to the report, the overall sales volume of the US smart speaker market in the third quarter was 53 million units, which was higher than the 50 million units in the second quarter of June. In the third quarter, Amazon Echo, Google Google Home, and Apple HomePod ranked in the top three, with 70%, 25%, and 5% respectively.
As expected, Amazon and Google gained more market share as both companies competed for the low-end market and they worked hard to produce the cheapest smart speakers on the market. At the same time, Apple's HomePod product is strong, although it has not cut prices or hardware upgrades since its launch this year.
In summary, HomePod has been growing, but compared to the number of iOS devices, Apple's smart speakers still have a lot of room for growth.
