A new survey shows that more and more people are hoping to buy Apple Watch during the holiday shopping season this year, which indicates that Apple's wearable devices are becoming more and more popular. Of course, Apple's phones, tablets and laptops still appear on many people's holiday season shopping lists.
After surveying consumer desires for the holiday season, Gazelle found that four of the five most popular products came from Apple.
21% of respondents want to own an iPhone, and 17% want to buy an Apple Watch. In contrast, the percentage of iPad and MacBooks planned to be purchased is 16% and 14%, respectively. It is worth mentioning that Apple products do not completely occupy the user's shopping list, 23% want a Samsung mobile phone.
Apple Watch grew slowly in the early days of 2015, but sales have rebounded sharply since then. The sales of this smart watch is expected to reach 24 million in 2018, and in the first year of Apple Watch's launch, it sold only 11 million to 12 million. This growth is continuing, and analysts expect Apple Watch to grow 40% next year.
In fact, it is not surprising that a significant portion of Apple's products are sold during the holiday shopping season. Last year, the company's fourth-quarter revenue was higher than any other quarter, even 40% higher than the second-highest quarter. The previous holiday shopping season accounted for one-third of the company's annual revenue.
