Apple released the 7.8.1 version of iCloud on Wednesday. Before the latest version was released, many users reported compatibility problems between iCloud on Windows and Windows 10 in October 2008. Photo synchronization and many other functions were affected.
Last week, it was reported that Microsoft and Apple are working together to solve compatibility problems between Windows iCloud and Windows 10 systems. The 7.8.1 version of iCloud in Windows seems to be an update that Apple has released to solve this problem. Apple's Windows iCloud support page on the official U.S. regional website is described as follows:
Windows version iCloud 7.8.1 requires Microsoft Windows 7 or higher, Outlook 2007 or higher, or iCloud.com (for mail, address book, calendar); Internet Explorer 10 or higher, Firefox 30 or higher, or Google Chrome 28 or higher (for bookmarks).
Before this update, Apple explained in the description of the iCloud support page in Windows that iCloud 7.7 and higher versions of Windows require updates from Microsoft Windows 7 to Windows 10 in April 2018, not Windows 10 updates in October 2018.
At present, Apple has confirmed that the Windows version of iCloud 7.8.1 has solved the compatibility problem that troubles users. However, the support page of Apple's official website in China still shows version 7.7.
