Previously, Microsoft female employees complained that there were sexual harassment inside the company, such as asking female employees to sit on their colleagues' legs and insulting people with derogatory names. After understanding the situation, Microsoft executives immediately held a series of internal meetings and took steps to solve the problem.

Nadella said in an email that Microsoft will block and handle this behavior more powerfully. To this end, the company will add personnel experts, when the problem first appears, can enhance the "listening ability"; the personnel department will set up a new employee rights promotion team (Employee Advocacy Team), they will assist employees to conduct office space investigation To help employees understand the process, guide employees to complete the investigation, and follow up with relevant employees after the investigation.

In the mail, Nadella also said that Microsoft will introduce a personnel investigator to reduce the median time of the investigation to one month or less. In addition, Microsoft will also set new penalties for bad behavior, and managers will be punished. If the penalties imposed by managers on employees are out of scope, they need to be signed by the vice president of the company.
