Reuters pointed out that India is the world's fastest growing smartphone market, while China's mobile phones are popular for their people-friendly prices, self-portraits and large screens.
"Data consumption is on the rise, and users are upgrading their phones faster than in other regions," said Tarun Pathak, an analyst at Counterpoint. "So high-end mobile phones are rapidly spreading to middle-price brands. We estimate that this trend will continue to lead to fierce competition in the mid-range market in the coming quarters.
