Huawei's negotiations with banks are still at an early stage and there is no guarantee that an agreement will be reached. If a loan agreement is reached, then the pricing of the loan and the identity of the participating banks may further illustrate the market's view on Huawei's financial strength. According to the company's 2018 financial report, as of December last year, Huawei's unsecured bank loans totaled 37 billion yuan ($5.3 billion), of which 2.8 billion yuan was due in one year. Huawei's total cash and cash equivalents are about 2.6 times the total amount of loans.
Huawei did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
