Microsoft senior software engineer Cesar Valiente wrote: "Microsoft is one of the leading publishers in the Google Play store, and people from around the world use these apps every day to help them achieve more."
In the official blog post, Valiente lists some interesting facts:
● There are more than 150 Microsoft apps on Google Play, and the number of apps in the frequently updated active update state is about 70.
● There are already 9 apps in these apps that have exceeded 100 million downloads, 5 of which are more than 500 million apps (Skype is still the only member of the 1 billion download club)
● The average score for Microsoft apps is 4.2 stars, and the average rating for apps with more than 1 million downloads is 4.33 stars.
● Microsoft has 15 different Android teams in the US, Canada, Germany, UK, Norway, Czech Republic, Israel, India and China.
In this post, Valiente continues to explain that all of these teams are free to use the programming language they want, including Java, Kotlin, C++, Xamarin or React Native. “We always focus on industry trends and take into account the excellent perspectives and experience of developers in the Android community and try to experiment while still taking into account our different business needs,” the software engineer wrote.
