After the IEEE requested internal Huawei to prohibit Huawei employees from being editors and reviewers of its journals, many Chinese scientists responded.

Professor Zhang Haixia, a professor at the School of Information Science and Technology of Peking University, a member of the IEEE and a member of the journal editorial board, published an "open letter to the IEEE Chairman", stating that "this goes far beyond the bottom line of an academic acceptor" and applies for withdrawal from the two Editorial Board of IEEE Journals.

Liu Yuqun, an associate professor in the Department of Computer Science and Technology at Tsinghua University, also said in a circle of friends that students should not vote for IEEE-related conferences and journals, and individuals will quit IEEE-related academic positions as soon as possible.
