At last week's EPYC Horizon conference, AMD launched the second-generation EPYC 7002 series of Xiaolong processors, using a 7Nm Zen2 architecture with up to 64 cores and 128 threads. While leading Intel's most powerful 28-core processors by a large margin, the price of less than $7000 is more than half cheaper than that of Friends. AMD expects their X86 services. The market share of appliances will rise.

In addition,AMD also updated the CPU roadmap at the conference.Zen2 Architecture has fulfilled its mission, and a new generation of Zen3 Architecture has been designed. Three generations of EPYC processors are coded Milan Milan, while Zen4 Architecture coded Genoa Genoa is under development.

Compared with Intel, AMD has gained an advantage by leading one or two generations of advanced technology. Because this partner, TSMC, will continue to increase the production capacity of 7Nm and other technologies. New changes have taken place in 2019, which was previously undervalued. At a recent financial conference, TSMC announced an increase in capital expenditure to 1100. The expenditure will be no less than that next year, and the production of 7Nm and 5nm processes will increase in the future.

According to the information of TSMC,Since November this year, the monthly production capacity of 7Nm process will increase by 10,000 wafers, and the 5nm process will also increase from 45,000 wafers per month previously planned to 50,000 wafers per month. It is scheduled to be formally produced in Nanke 18 Factory in Q1 next year.

On AMD's side, the Zen3 architecture, which will be available in 2020, is expected to use an upgraded version of the 7Nm EUV process with a 7Nm process. The planned Zen4 architecture has not yet been determined, but according to the roadmap evolution plan, it should be mass-produced in 2021 using a 5-nm process.

Of course, the expansion of 7Nm and 5nm capacity of TSMC is not solely for AMD. Apple, Hess, Sellings, NVIDIA and other companies will also use the 7Nm and 5nm technology of TSMC. This year, Hess has increased the strength of 7Nm chips. In addition to Kylin 980, there are Kylin 810. In September, the next generation of Kylin processors will be launched. It is expected that the 7Nm EUV process will be used.
