This week, the 31st HotChips Conference of the Semiconductor Industry was held in Stanford.

AMD CEO Su Zifeng's speeches were in the forefront. In nearly one hour's speech and answer questions, Su Zifeng focused on Zen 2 architecture, EPYC, 7Nm technology, CPU/GPU interconnection and so on. Although there was no major publication, she answered two topics of common consumers'concern in the interview.

First, the next generation of ThreadRipper processors, under repeated questioning by reporters, Su Zifeng revealed that,It will be released within one year, and important information will be shared within this year.

Another issue is about CrossFire.Dr. Su admitted that the firefight was no longer the focus of the company's attention. She believes that the performance of single-card GPUs will continue to improve dramatically, and that software will improve faster than hardware.

In fact, AMD's latest RX architecture graphics RX 5700 series has completely abandoned the traditional Implicit Mode in DX9, DX11 and OpenGL games, only supporting the new Explicit Mode in DX12 and Vulkan games. Friendship NVIDIA is the same, SLI multi-card technology is limited to some high-end models.
