This undoubtedly intensifies the competition for artificial meat between Impossible Foods and Beyond Meat, which sells its own meat-free hamburgers in grocery stores in addition to serving meat-free hamburgers to restaurants. When Beyond Meat announced its latest meat-free hamburger product in June, Beyond Meat said consumers could buy it in stores and supermarkets, including Whole Foods, Kroger, Safeway, Publix, Wegmans, Target and Prouts. By contrast, Impossible Foods lags behind Beyond Meat in selling meat-free burgers directly to consumers.

Both Impossible Foods and Beyond Meat have sold meatless hamburgers to restaurants. Impossible Foods said more than 17000 restaurants are already serving its meatless hamburgers, including more than 7000 Burger King restaurants. At the same time, Beyond Meat is Carl.
