The company indicated that this car will be launched together with the traditional ice and PHEV models.

It is understood that the X3 xdrive30e uses the familiar gasoline engine, a 2.0-litre 4-cylinder twin turbo engine, which can output a peak power of 184 HP by matching with the 8-speed steptronic transmission.

In that case of an electric motor, an additional 109 horsepower pow may be output. In general, the power system can output 292 horsepower and a torque peak of 420 N · m.

BMW said that under the power system, the hybrid car can accelerate 100 kilometers in 6.1 seconds, and its maximum speed can reach 130 mph (about 208km / h).

Driving the X3 xdrive30e will have a variety of different driving mode options, depending on whether the driver's priority is energy efficiency or performance, or just wants to leave the decision to the BMW system. Although all wheel drive is standard for cars, xDrive will shift power back and forth according to the place with the most grip, and more interestingly, it can even work in pure electric mode.

This mode is called Max Edrive, which can be turned on by the driver through a special Edrive button on the dashboard. BMW said that with electricity alone, drivers can drive at 83 mph, but in the United States, the range under this mode is expected to be about 20 miles (about 32 kilometers). In Europe, the wltp test was 32-34 miles (51-55 km).

When the driver switches the car to automatic Edrive, x3 xdrive30e will selectively run in EV mode, and the maximum speed can reach 68 mph (about 109km / h). However, it also starts the internal combustion engine when the car enters a higher speed.

The 12kwh battery is installed under the rear seat and the fuel tank is installed on the trunnion. BMW says this means that the new x3 xdrive30e is only a little worse in storage space than the pure gasoline version.

As for charging, BMW said that the level 2 connection should allow the X3 xdrive30e to complete charging within 6 hours; if the BMW I wallbox is used, it only takes 3.5 hours. In addition, drivers can use BMW's connected app to remotely control charging, turn on the HVAC system to heat or cool SUVs, and locate charging stations along the way.

It is unusual for a PHEV to have the same selection array for the new X3. This means that the adaptive suspension, the variable motion steering and the M-motion kit can be selected for those who want to be more moving, and the head-up display, the adaptive cruise control, the BMW Driving Assistant, and the parking assistant can also be selected in the vehicle.

It is reported that the new BMW X3 xdrive30e will be put into production in December at BMW's plant in Spartanburg, USA. Global supply is expected to start in the first quarter of next year, and prices are likely to be announced around that time.
