Apple's A-Series processor performance is very good and powerful, far superior to Android manufacturers. Qualcomm, Huawei and Android light Samsung are unable to compete with the same generation of A-Series processor in CPU and GPU performance. But Apple's problem is that they haven't been able to get rid of baseband. Qualcomm is the obstacle they can't get around. So Apple bought Intel's baseband business in July this year.

As Intel said before, they spent billions of dollars, hired thousands of employees, and acquired two baseband companies, Infineon and Verizon,We have developed world-class innovative products

Of course, this result didn't work out. Qualcomm's patent in the network communication market is too strong. No manufacturer in the world can completely avoid Qualcomm. Apple reached a settlement with Qualcomm in April. It paid at least $4.5 billion to reuse Qualcomm baseband. Next year's iPhone 12 will use x55g baseband.

But Apple didn't give up on its own baseband,For this reason, in July this year, it also spent $1 billion to acquire Intel's consumer baseband chip business,Intel has about 2200 employees and 17000 patents, but it will take a few years for apple to develop its own baseband, which can't be expected until 2021 at least.

Today, Apple announced that it has completed the process of acquiring Intel baseband business, and officially incorporated the latter's smartphone baseband business into its business. In the future, it will build a business for the 5g baseband researched by apple, and better fight against Huawei, Samsung and other companies in the Android camp. The latter two companies have their own 5g baseband business.
