E-ncap (the European new car assessment programme) is one of the most authoritative new car assessment institutions in the world. Every year, the safest new cars of the previous year are selected according to the model level.Recently, e-ncap announced the collision results of the first pure electric vehicle type taycan of Porsche, and the new car won five stars. E-ncap tested taycan from four aspects: adult members, children members, vulnerable road users and safety assistance.

The measured data shows that taycan performs well in adult protection, except for the protection of the chest of passengers in full frontal collision and the protection of the neck of passengers in seat whiplash test.

In addition, taycan also maintained a good performance in child protection, except for the 6-year-old child model, in the frontal impact test, neck protection was rated as marginal evaluation and slightly deducted. Specific performance: adult protection 85%, child protection 83%, pedestrian protection 70%, safety assistance 73%.

As a contrast, the performance of Tesla Model 3 in the same test environment is: adult protection 96%, child protection 86%, pedestrian protection 74%, safety assistance 94%.

On the whole, although the overall performance of Porsche taycan has reached five stars, there is still a certain gap between the specific performance and the current benchmark model 3 in this field.
