32.35t superconducting magnet developed in China

via:博客园     time:2019/12/7 0:00:31     readed:171

Wang Qiuliang team, Institute of electrical engineering, Chinese Academy of SciencesSuccessfully developedThe all superconducting magnet with a central magnetic field of 32.35 Tesla (T) broke the world record of 32.0 Tesla superconducting magnet created by the national strong magnetic field laboratory of the United States in December 2017.

The upper limit of magnetic field intensity produced by low temperature superconducting magnet is about 23.0t. In order to improve the central magnetic field strength of the superconducting magnet and obtain a higher magnetic field, the team built the magnet by mixing the high and low temperature superconducting magnets. The high temperature superconducting magnet is inserted into the coaxial structure of the low temperature superconducting magnet. The high tensile strength of the high temperature superconducting tape and the high flux density of the high magnetic field are used to generate the central magnetic field of more than 23.0t.
