In February, foreign media reported that Google planned to acquire alooma, a cloud service startup, to compete with Amazon and Microsoft in cloud computing. In June, the company also acquired data analysis company looker for $2.6 billion in full cash. After the acquisition, looker will also be incorporated into Google cloud.
In July, the company announced that it would buy cloud storage service Elastifile, after the acquisition, Elastifile will be merged into Google Cloud. In November, the company bought CloudSimple, a cloud computing company, to strengthen its cloud computing business.
