According to foreign media reports, the U.S. national highway traffic safety administration made an official statement today,An investigation into the fatal accident of Tesla in Los Angeles on Sunday。
Two people were killed when a driver driving a black 2016 Model S Tesla sedan ran a red light Sunday and crashed into a 2006 Honda Civic, the Los Angeles Police Department confirmed. Two passengers in the Tesla car were taken to a nearby hospital with no life-threatening injuries.
It is unclear whether the autopilot on Tesla, the company's advanced driver assistance system, was in use at the time of the crash, and if so, whether it could have caused or exacerbated the accident.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said its investigation also included advanced driving systems such as Tesla autopilot.
