There is no doubt that Google maps has always dominated the market in terms of navigation and mapping, so that it's easy to forget that Google has another way of looking at the world. While maps are more suitable for traveling around the world, Google Earth is more focused on making people discover the blue planet. It happens to include the location of the blue water drop in the universe, which is why Google now places a more accurate star background when it looks at the earth on its mobile device from a distance.

The Google Earth team discussed how important reality is to them. Like navigation and mapping tools like Google map, accuracy of location is the highest priority.

When you zoom in enough to see the whole earth, this realism even extends to the background. In the past, because of the pure black space behind the earth, it seemed to be a fake to see the world from outer space. As a result, Google has added a view of stars to the background, which has been used on Google Earth for web and earth Pro for a long time.

Now, this realism has been added to Google Earth mobile applications, so you can observe the earth as an astronaut would 30000 miles off the ground. Note that it's not just static wallpaper or something like that. These images will be adjusted based on which part of the sky is relative to your Earth's field of view, and the positions of these objects are based on data collected by the European Southern Observatory.

This small but important update, along with the animation cloud that represents weather patterns, makes Google Earth (in either form) more realistic and accurate.
