According to the latest newsBeijing-Oriental (BOE) is investing heavily in opening and perfecting the production line of OLED modules used solely for Apple products, which appears to be the necessary preparation for JingDong to get Apple orders and become a new iPhone supplier.

According to previous industry chain information, Apple plans to order OLED displays from BOE in 2020, which will make BOE the second largest OLED display supplier of iPhone.

Apple has been seeking to diversify its sources of manufacturers. Apple initially only used Samsung to produce OLED displays, but in order to avoid dependence on a single supplier and reduce costs, apple added LG as its supplier in 2018.

That could also be the reason why Apple has been investing in the ailing Japanese display company that was once a leading LCD maker but was slow to turn to OLED manufacturing.

Beijing Dongfang, which has invested in new plants and equipment for the OLED production line, is expected to build 10 new production lines for Apple at the B11 OLED plant in Sichuan, and not only that, it will provide the entire assembly line from the panel to the module.
