Microsoft stopped supporting Internet Explorer 10 in Windows Server 2012 and windows embedded 8 standard in February 2020Microsoft notes that all updates, pay-as-you-go support options, and Internet Explorer 10 technology content updates ceased on February 11,2020, meaning Microsoft will not release security updates for Internet Explorer 10 in its March 10,2020 patch.
Internet Explorer 11 was previously available as an optional update, but Microsoft recently changed it to a recommended update. On windows update, Internet Explorer 11 will be listed under the important section instead of the optional section, and on WSUS, the update type will be displayed as recommended.
After Microsoft said it installed Internet Explorer 11 on its device, Microsoft recommended installing the latest "Internet Explorer 11 Cumulative Update" for Windows Sever 2012 and Windows Embedded 8 Standard to ensure security. Later in 2020, Internet Explorer 11 updates will be included in the monthly summary and will continue to be available as "Internet Explorer 11 Cumulative Update" in the Microsoft Update directory and WSUS.
Even if the browser is not actively used, the company should install a new version of Internet Explorer on the device. Other components of the system may use the Internet Explorer module, which may exploit the version vulnerability of Internet Explorer that is not supported by Microsoft.
