Through cooperation with the National Library of Medicine (NLM), Allen Institute of artificial intelligence, Georgetown University, Chen and Zuckerberg foundation, kaggle (data modeling and data analysis competition platform), White House Office of science and Technology Policy (OSTP), Microsoft recently announced the successful creation of COVID-19 Open Research Data Set (CORD-19)In order to facilitate the research and use, scientific articles on new coronavirus were integrated.
The cord19 database contains more than 29000 academic articles on covid-19 and the coronavirus family, of which 13000 are full-text readers. The articles of these databases are designed to be machine-readable, so that researchers can use AI tools to access, analyze and mine data, so as to promote the improvement of algorithms and the related research of epidemic situation.
Microsoft has provided index and mapping for thousands of articles around the world, and promised to continue to update the index and provide a unified and constantly updated resource to the global research community, so as to summarize all research on covid-19 as much as possible. Microsoft hopes that this will improve the efficiency of research and discovery, and speed up the process of solving the epidemic.
