Sony launched a AI-based music production service Flow Machines

According to foreign media Neowin,Sony Computer Science Lab (Sony CSL) today launched an AI based music production serviceFlowMachines。 Flow Machines Profession (fmpro) is its core, which combines human creativity and AI-based recommendation systems that propose melodies, chords, and bass so that creators can customize content according to their preferences.


FM Pro achieve this goal by using the style and rhythm of Style Palette expressing songs, Style Palette is a machine learning model that can analyze the music data developed Sony CSL. to use it, the user first starts the FlowMachines Pro plug-in in the digital audio workstation (DAW) and then selects the style palette based on the chords of the song they want to create. Thereafter, the user can press "compose"(combination), and the accompaniment style panel will present multiple melody candidates with accompaniment chords and bass according to the selected chords (4 subsections x 4 mode or 8 subsections x 2 mode).


If the proposed candidate meets its purpose, the user can simply drag and drop it into a track in the Daw. If not, the user can press compose again to get another set of candidates. When a chord is selected, the music performance information can be used directly as MIDI data.
