For the new coronavirus, the most fundamental way is vaccine. At present, vaccine research and development are also racing against the clock. China and the United States are the fastest in this field. Zhong Nanshan, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, said today that five vaccines are being developed simultaneously in China. At today's Sino-Korean prevention and control experience exchange, academician Zhong Nanshan mentioned that five vaccines are now being developed simultaneously in China. Currently walking faster is adenovirus vector vaccine, and fully inactivated vaccine.

"Adenovirus vector vaccine has reached people ,‍‍ the first phase of clinical trials began, and the fully inactivated vaccine will soon reach people ," Zhong said. The ‍‍ also needs to have a time to observe after coming to the person ,‍‍ the general situation is 1-2 years, but ‍‍ may be due to the need for disease development, may be ahead of time ."

We need to point out that the five vaccines mentioned by academician Zhong Nanshan do not mean that there are five models of vaccines in China, but refer to five technical routes, namely, inactivated vaccine, recombinant genetic engineering vaccine, adenovirus vector vaccine, nucleic acid vaccine (mRNA vaccine and DNA vaccine), attenuated vaccine.

If it is a specific number, as of February there are more than 20 known vaccines in the country, and now there are 48 candidate vaccine development, almost all kinds of vaccines will try once, after all, the new crown virus is a brand new RNA virus.

The adenovirus vector vaccine mentioned by Zhong Nanshan is the recently announced phase I clinical vaccine. It was developed by the research team led by academician Chen Wei of the Military Medical Research Institute. The trial started in mid March, and academician Chen Wei also gave the first injection.

Today, it is reported that academician Chen Wei's vaccine has completed phase I clinical trials, its safety has stood the test, and phase II clinical trials have begun.
