IBM launched open source tools to help covid-19 data analysis

IBM Open Source Data and AI Technology Centre (CODAIT)introductionA new toolkit, covid notebooks, has been developed to help developers and data scientists answer questions about the pandemic.

Covid notebooks is designed to help you:

  • Get authoritative data about the current state of the outbreak,
  • Eliminate the most serious data quality problems,
  • Organize the data into a format that is easy to analyze using tools such as pandas and scikit learn,
  • and build an initial set of sample reports and graphics.

IBM side says that by handling these tasks, developers and data scientists can be freed to focus on advanced analysis and modeling tasks without worrying about data formats and data cleansing. this repository uses developer-friendly Jupyter notebook to cover each initial data analysis step.

Data processing pipelines are also created using elyra notebook pipelines visual editor and kubeflow pipelines. An example is as follows:

These pipes allow users to rerun the entire extraction, conversion, and analysis workflow by simply clicking a button.
