Tesla's in China rose 102.9% from a year earlier to $1.4 billion

Beijing News (Reporter Lu Yifu) on July 28, Beijing time, Tesla submitted documents to the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) that Tesla's sales revenue in the second quarter of this year reached $1.4 billion, an increase of 102.9 percent over the same period last year. China continues to be second only to the United States as Tesla's second largest sales market, accounting for 23.19 percent of total revenue.

Tesla's sales in the United States have fallen as the California plant stopped for nearly 50 days during the Q2. According to the documents, Tesla's sales revenue in the United States in the second quarter reached $3.09 billion, down 11.20 percent from the same period last year, accounting for 51.19 percent of Tesla's Q2 revenue; Norway and the Netherlands contributed $1.546 billion, down 29.08 percent from $2.18 billion in the same period last year.

Combined with Q1 data, in the first half of this year, Tesla achieved sales revenue of US $2.3 billion in China, a year-on-year increase of 56.57%; US market revenue of US $5.858 billion, a year-on-year decrease of 8.26%; and that of other markets was US $3.863 billion, with a year-on-year growth of 6.94%.

Tesla posted second-quarter results on July 23, reporting revenue of $6.036 billion in the second quarter, down 5 percent from a year earlier, net profit of $104 million under U.S. General Accounting Standards and a net loss of $408 million in the same period last year.
