Microsoft announced today that Microsoft 365 applications and services will stop supporting Internet Explorer 11 from August 17, 2021. Microsoft teams, one of the popular communication tools, will also stop supporting ie11 from November 30, 2020. After the specified date, the experience will decline when customers use Microsoft 365 applications and services through IE11. And in the worst case, they will not be able to connect to applications and services.
Customers have been using Internet Explorer 11 since 2013, when the online environment was far less colorful than it is today. Later, compatible with more open web standards and newer browsers - such as the new Microsoft edge - have enabled a better and more innovative online experience corresponding to the existing Internet. We believe that in the consumer and business environment, Microsoft 365 users will be able to better serve this change through faster and more sensitive network access and more functions of daily tools such as outlook, teams, and SharePoint.
Enterprise customers who rely on ie11 for business critical applications can use the new Internet Explorer model in the new Microsoft edge browser to gain compatibility and continue to work.
