Foreign media CNET reported that if NASA's (NASA) plan is fulfilled, a female astronaut will walk on the moon's surface in 2024.NASA announced the plan last year but updated its Artemis plan on MondayThe first steps to send astronauts back to the moon since 1972 are listed.
The plan includes pairing powerful space launch system rockets with Orion spacecraft for unmanned test flights next year. "Artemis II" will be launched in 2023, and the astronauts on board will fully test Orion's navigation ability. All this will lead to the Artemis III mission in 2024.
The Artemis III mission will lay the foundation for longer lunar missions and more surface exploration. NASA scientific equipment is being sent ahead of time, astronauts will also use more flexible and lighter spacesuits.
The plan includes the gradual establishment of infrastructure on the lunar surface, including a potential stronghold. From the base camp, astronauts and rovers can search for and possibly extract resources such as water.
