Microsoft's Windows XP and Windows Server 2003 source code has been leaked online. Torrent files of the source code of the two historic operating systems for the company have been posted on file-sharing websites this week. This is the first public disclosure of the source code of windows XP, although it has been claimed that the code has been privately shared for many years.
This is the first time Windows XP the source code is publicly available, but the source code is not strictly preserved, and Microsoft has launched a special government security program (GSP) that allows government and organizations to have controlled access to the source code and other technical content.
Still, it's not clear how much Windows XP source code is contained in the leaked source code, but a Windows internal expert it had found microsoft's NetMeeting user certificate root key.
Some source code leaks also refer to Microsoft's Windows CE operating system, MS-DOS and other leaked Microsoft information. Curiously, these documents also refer to Bill Gates' conspiracy theory, apparently to spread the wrong message.
