Recently, Dr. Wang Chenglu, President of Huawei's consumer business software department, disclosed that the adaptation work of mobile version of Hongmeng OS 2.0 is progressing well, and the R & D is ready. It is expected to be released as scheduled in December.
He also stated that:
According to the latest disclosure of digital blogger @ Chang'an digital Jun, mobile phone Hongmeng OS 2.0 has tentatively opened beta test version on December 18, and will provide upgrade channels for some mobile phone users in January and February next year. After that, preliminary upgrade verification will be carried out for several months, and then the upgrade will be fully opened.
Obviously, Huawei is very cautious in upgrading the OS of Hongmeng mobile phone. After all, such a subversive change can't tolerate any mistakes. We must take it slowly. We should be patient and wait slowly. Maybe we can complete a comprehensive replacement on Huawei's mobile phone by this time next year.
Wang also revealed that more than 90% of Huawei's models on the market will be upgraded to Hongmeng.
It is reported that Huawei decided to build Hongmeng system internally as early as may 2016, and made a layout for the possible future market and technology direction. The core innovation is to regard individual IOT devices as different modules and then connect them, because it is an operating system developed for the interconnection of all things.
