Microsoft has announced another version of its Win7 after it officially stopped supporting extended support for Windows 7 systems earlier this yeaWindows Embedded standard 7 will also stop support on October 13

Microsoft said:

Windows Embedded standard 7 system (wes7) is an OS system launched by Microsoft for embedded market such as IOT Internet of things. It was released in 2015, 6 years later than win7. There are two versions of ws7e and ws7p. Some functions applicable to embedded system are added, such as EWF, fbwf, dialog filter, dism and register filter.

Stopping support means that many devices using wes7 system no longer receive the upgrade patch, which also means higher security risk. If you don't want to upgrade to win10 IOT version, you can either stick with it or buy Microsoft's ESU service.

ESU extended security update is a paid service of Microsoft,We can get the key and important updates of Microsoft in three years, and wes7 system can support until October 10, 2023But ESU charges and increases every year.
