According to foreign media CNET,The U.S. government's Curvature Velocity Action (Operation Warp Speed) announced it hopes to provide 20 million Americans with a sufficient dose of COVID-19 vaccine in December. At a news conference on Friday, operation curvature leader moncef slaoui said that after December, he hopes to have enough vaccine doses every month for another 25 to 30 million Americans.
However, the timetable depends on whether the vaccine can be given an urgent mandate from the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) of the United States.
Pfizer, an American pharmaceutical company, announced Monday that its experimental vaccine was more than 90 percent effective in preventing new coronary pneumonia. The company said it tested the vaccine on more than 40,000 people in six countries and found no serious problems.
Pfizer plans to apply for emergency FDA approval next week, adding that if approved, it will produce about 50 million doses of vaccine by 2020 and 1.3 billion doses by 2021. Pfizer's vaccine requires two injections every three weeks. Pfizer was not involved in operation curvature and was not funded by the government.
