9to5 Google reported that in addition to the well-known voice commands, the Google assistant digital assistant actually supports reading incoming notifications aloud. The company has now confirmed that all wired headphones are specifically supported for this feature. When a user connects a usb-c or 3.5mm wired headset to an Android device running the latest version of Google App, he or she can see the following notice: "just press and hold the button on the headset to talk to the digital assistant.".

Click the notice and the system will jump to the setting interface. Here, users can enable notification access and adjust notifications that Google assistant is allowed to read, such as schedule reminders.

The setup wizard will remind the user to press and hold the trigger key on the headset to issue a voice command. Press and hold the trigger key for 2 seconds to hear two tones. The digital assistant will broadcast the time and the number of unread notifications before reading the latest content.

If you are sure to enable this setting, please go to the list of devices under Google assistant settings, find the "wired headphones" under "personal", and then enable or disable the "get help from Google" function at any time as needed.

On this page, users can also finely control which apps are allowed to process voice notifications and provide help. However, it should be pointed out that Google has not officially released this function, which means that there are still some variables and room for improvement in the future.
