In December last year, Activision Blizzard CEO Bob Kotick and coo Daniel Alegre launched the holiday giving initiative, offering each Activision Blizzard employee $200 (or local equivalent) to donate to a charity of their choice. According to Blizzard's statistics, 8013 employees participated in the event and donated more than $1.6 million to 3211 charities.

When launching the initiative, Bob Kotick and Daniel Alegre said: "at Activision Blizzard, we realize that we have a responsibility to give back to the communities we operate. From creating jobs for veterans to eliminating racial discrimination to supporting important health care programs, we are committed to doing something. We believe that we can connect and participate in the world in a way that no other company can. We continue to thank many of you for working with us to change the world in a lasting way. "

Blizzard said that while using the company's funds, it also redistributed the funds originally used for the company's year-end activities to the festival donation initiative.
