Apple has long been rumored to hold an event in March, when it will announce a bunch of new products. So far, we've heard that apple is developing new iPad pro and MacBook Pro models with mini LED displays.
According to DIGITIMES industry news, Taiwan supplier ennostar will start producing mini LEDs for the 12.9-inch iPad pro at the end of the first or second quarter of this year. Ennostar was founded in January 2021 by wafer optoelectronics and Ronda electronics. The two companies come together for better LED related solutions.
As mentioned earlier, apple is expected to launch its latest iteration of the 12.9-inch iPad Pro Model in the first half of this year, with the mini led. Wafer optoelectronics will remain Apple's exclusive supplier, and these chips will be part of Ronda's Backlight solutions. This is not the first time we have heard this news, because many rumors and reports have created a similar time frame for the iPad. Cumulatively, the release time has narrowed to the first quarter of 2021. This gives us hope that the new model of iPad Pro will be launched in March.
In addition to the mini LED display, the new iPad Pro model is expected to use Apple's a14x chip and support 5g network on the cellular model. One thing we're not sure is whether the company will also release a smaller 11 inch version of the iPad pro. Because many rumors only mentioned the larger 12.9-inch iPad pro. If Apple is likely to release two models, only the larger 12.9-inch iPad Pro will have a mini LED display. The smaller 11 inch models use only a14x chips and regular screens.
Apple will also use the mini led solution in its MacBook line. According to the report, the company will launch a new MacBook model with new display technology in the second half of this year. Apple will launch 14 inch and 16 inch MacBook Pro models in the second half of this year. Both models will come in a new design with HDMI and SD card readers. In addition, touch bar will be removed and MagSafe will return.
