Sources say iPhone 13 will use snapdragon X60 baseband: Apple continues to improve new signal / 5G performance

There is no doubt that apple is continuing to improve the iPhone signal problem, and the next new machine will continue to use high pass baseband.

According to DIGITIMES,Apple's next-generation iPhone 13 series will use Qualcomm's snapdragon X60 5g modem, and Samsung will be responsible for manufacturing the chip.

The X60 is based on a 5nm process, which enables greater energy efficiency in a smaller size than the snapdragon x55 modem based on 7Nm process used in the iPhone 12, which will help extend battery life.

With the X60 modem, the iPhone 13 will also be able to aggregate 5g data from both mmwave and sub-6ghz bands to achieve the best combination of high-speed and low latency network coverage.

In 2019, apple and Qualcomm settled a legal dispute and reached a multi-year chipset supply agreement, paving the way for apple to use Qualcomm's 5g modem. Apple may use the X60 modem on its iPhone in 2021, followed by the recently announced snapdragon X65 modem on its iPhone in 2022, according to a court document in the settlement.

Apple is expected to start using its own 5g modem for the iPhone in 2023.
